Profile Information

Company Name
The Enterprise Agency for Wear Valley and Teesdale
Job Title
Business Adviser
About Me:
Originally from Bradford, West Yorkshire; I moved to Darlington in 1982 (somebody had to bring some culture to the area). My work experience has been in the Human Resources and Training fields mainly within the manufacturing and retail sectors. I joined the Agency in August 2003 as a Start-up Business Adviser to provide practical assistance, guidance and training; helping potential entrepreneurs to realise their dreams. My current role involves working with existing SMEs, mainly micro-businesses, providing a wide range of business support.

I also provide practical human resources support for businesses, assisting with the development of employment and health and safety policies and procedures and compliance with their legal obligations as employers.

I am an armchair follower of most sports, played football to semi-professional standard (turned out for Bradford City Reserves a few times which was a great honour) and, now that age has caught up with me, I try to convince myself that I can play golf.

Oh, nearly forgot, I have a wife and two daughters.

Hi John, good to hear from you. I hope all is well in the Lancaster household. No photo on my page as I wouldn't want to scare the animals.
I get around the area meeting client's, so could let you know when I'm going to be nearby and meet up for a coffee.
Regards, Selwyn
