About Me:: I was born in Stanhope (a long while ago!), grew up in Weardale and then left to study for a maths degree in Newcastle. I then took a job in the south of England, but returned some 10 years ago, working from home for EDS. About 3 years ago I decided to retrain in accountancy and started a business with my husband. This was alongside my other job of almost 23 years. I have just taken voluntary redundancy from EDS and am looking to really build my business now. My husband and two children aged 15 and 17 take a lot of my time but I still manage some voluntary activities: I am a school governor at SKS in Alston, treasurer of a playground committee and also involved with a group trying to provide decent access to broadband for those living in remote areas of Weardale.

About My Business:: Bookkeeping and Accountancy services for small businesses, individuals and sole traders. I will consider taking on all types of work from day to day bookeeping to annual accounts, personal tax returns, VAT returns, etc. I am AAT qualified and will work either on clients or my own premises and I do not have a fixed schedule of charges - I prefer to charge fairly for the time taken to complete a task!
