About Me:
Born in the North East of England, I went to school at Croft House Hexham, then Dame Allens Newcastle. At University I studied International Business with French, in Liverpool and spent the 3rd year of my degree at IPAG, Nice. Since graduating I have worked in New Media, IT, Professional Services, Tourism, Manufacturing and Engineering.

My digital media interest and experience stems from 1997 when I joined a small team called Amaze which backed by venture capitalists span out from Liverpool John Moores University, as Production Director at www.amaze.co.uk we grew the team from 7 to 120 staff by 2001 and were generating annual turnover of £10 million. Client included Saatchi, PWC and VW.

I came back to the North East in 2002 where I met and married Martin, we have a daughter Lucy and live in Gainford where we are surrounded by generations of both sides of our family.
About My Business:
I work for The Enterprise Agency, a not-for-profit social enterprise, and award winning economic development agency. We support local people starting up in business, improving company performance, e-enabling businesses, and creating and managing communications tools to benefit rurally based, small, family run companies.

I am a founder director of Radio Teesdale, www.radioteesdale.co.uk we were amongst the first Community stations in the UK to secure one of the newly available permanent broadcast licences and to start full time broadcast. The station is run by a team of 60 volunteer members, broadcasting 24/7 to a local population of 24,000, currently 4,000 of whom listen to the station online.

I run a collaborative marketing website www.milliondollarwomen.co.uk which encouarges and promotes particularly good online boutiques, specialist and independent shops. Million Dollar Women won the Best Business to Consumer website at the North East Digital Awards.

I am a Digital Fellowship Mentor at the Institute of Digital Innovation, Teeside University www.digitalcityfellowships.org
